HOPE Distributes 300 Biryani Meals in Kachra Kundi

Greetings HOPE Supporters,

Today HOPE distributed biryani meals to 300 extremely needy people in Kachra Kundi. As the name states, Kachra Kundi is a landfill area about an hour away from Karachi, Pakistan where a community of 1,000 families subsist by digging through the garbage for food and finding things to recycle which they can then turn into a small income.

In a Needs Assessment Survey conducted by HOPE Pakistan in 2019, we learned that the most needy family in Kachra Kundi was getting by with an income of $20/month for a family of 9. This translates to $.07 per person per day. This Needs Assessment Study gave rise to HOPE USA's highly successful and donor-initiated Grocery Rations Project whereby the HOPE Team delivered monthly food rations to 21 families in various poor locales for the past two years. Currently we are requesting funding to continue this project - interested parties may donate using the Food Rations designation on our dropdown menu or contact me to learn more.

As always, we are grateful for our donors for enabling us to make a tangible difference to those living in these dire conditions.

Best regards,
